Emma Hewitt – Colours

Home » Emma Hewitt – Colours

While listening to a few of my chill/trance/dream-pop Pandora stations recently an artist started appearing that I hadn’t previously heard before: Emma Hewitt. I’m not sure why her songs weren’t included in those genre playlists years ago (her “Burn the Sky Down” album was released in 2012). Her music and heavenly vocals exude a wonderful haunting beauty.  I recently purchased her CD (yes, I’m old school) but had to resort to ordering one from Australia via Ebay. There were none available in the US.

I’ve been absolutely enchanted and mesmerized the last two weeks; I can’t stop listening.  There are numerous favorites for me on the album, including Crucify, Miss You Paradise, Rewind, State That I’m In, Circles, Foolish Boy and Still Remember You. Currently the track Colours is really pulling at me, including the lyrics.

Absolutely beautiful!

Lyrics:   (Album Version)

If you had this time again
Would you do it all the same?
I wonder, would I?
Of the promises we made
Is there anything you’d change?
In the re-runs of our lives

If I could call you for a day just to hear the words you’d say
I would . . .

All the colours that you bring
All come rushing back again
All the places that we’ve been . . . this time

All the people that you knew
They’ll come running back to you
All the faces that we’ve seen . . . this life

And we never took the time
To see where we were going
We were only passing by . . .
And we never questioned why
The river keeps on flowing
The beauty of the ride . . .

If I could call you for a day just to hear the words you’d say
I would . . .

All the colours that you bring
All come rushing back again
All the places that we’ve been . . . this time

All the people that you knew
They’ll come running back to you
All the faces that we’ve seen . . . this life

The river flows . . .

The river flows . . .

All the colours that you bring
Will they ever come again?
All the places that we’ve been . . . this time

All the people that you knew
They’ll be waiting there for you
All the faces that we’ve seen . . . this life

All the colours that you bring
All we ever want to be
All the places that you’ve dreamed . . . this time

All the people that you knew
They’ll come running back to you
All the faces that we’ve seen in . . . this life

Reincarnation

In all my years of seeking and searching for Truth, it’s very difficult to ground myself on a particular ideology as the be-all/end-all regarding spirituality. My personal path from Catholicism, to Born-Again Christian, to Atheist, to Rosicrucianism/Agnosticism is a picture of shifting sands of so-called “belief.”

What is spiritual “Belief” after all, but a temporary stake-in-the-ground of emotions, thoughts and leanings that resonate with us at one point or another throughout our lives? Perhaps the “Belief” is grounded heavily in our many years of youthful indoctrination at the hands of church, school and family? Perhaps it’s the result of a “fad” we’ve thrown ourselves into as adults who were swayed by a resolute personality in our lives? Perhaps it’s grounded in nothing but ignorant/stupid devotion to something we trust but actually know NOTHING about? Perhaps it’s the decades-long road of searching for validity amongst most claims to spiritual enlightenment?

Yet, as a Seeker graduates from progressing through critical Questioning, Seeking, Discovering (particularly years and decades of it) there tends to be one arena of enlightenment that sticks its head above the crowd of confusing candidates. For me, that (for now) seems to be Reincarnation. Not necessarily the reincarnation of Hinduism, but instead the reincarnation as noted in Rosicrucianism (CR+CAMORC) and the books of Dr. Michael Newton: Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls. There are many other publications on this concept, but these are what have swayed me to date.

We seem to be here on the Earth as ethereal soul entities to live a life on the material plane in order to experience the physical realm and learn/develop/refine moral aspects of our life such that we can move up the vibrational planes of the spiritual dimensions. All reality is vibration. And as Michael Newton’s psychological hypnosis work shows, we are each part of a soul group that continually agrees to reincarnate in the same family/social arena to assist in teaching each other lessons of life. We see and live each life along with the same souls over-and-over again.

So . . . as such . . .  this song moves me greatly!

All throughout this masterpiece, there’s constant mention of     . . . this time     and     . . . this life.

And . . .

. . . we never questioned why
The river keeps on flowing
The beauty of the ride . . .

The world is full of reincarnated lives that constantly enter the river of material life from a myriad of tributaries and flow along with each of us interacting with others in our soul groups . . . living, loving, learning . . . TOGETHER!

The river flows . . .

The river flows . . .

This life IS a ride!  Savor it. Experience it. Refine it. Love it. Enjoy the beauty of the ride!  You will see these souls again. Will you treat it differently a second time??

Carpe diem friends!
